An eight-month journey into running and the role everyday habits play in performance and wellbeing.

The Research Question

How do routine habits impact recreational running, and what is their influence on foot health and injury risk among beginner runners?

The Overview of the Project

I explored the relationship between daily routines and their impact on running performance. I designed a running workbook that helps users stay accountable to their habits, improve their training, and reduce the risk of injury. Running is a complex activity influenced by habits like sleep, nutrition, form, and recovery. While it offers physical and mental benefits, including improved well-being and a 'runner’s high,' it also carries injury risks when training is unbalanced. Factors such as improper footwear, overtraining, and neglecting warm-ups or rest can lead to preventable injuries, highlighting the need for mindful, consistent running practices.
